On a role

More photoshops!! I have been doing a lot more as of late, so here is one more. I wanted something that created a sense of dark solitude, but that wasn't really the SAD kind of dark, just a deeper kind, more contemplative. :) Let me know what you think, mostly cause I want to know if anybody sees these things!!

I am thinking I understand why artists are so into drugs (NOT THAT I AM DOING THEM FOR THAT PURPOSE!!!) I am in lots of pain and can't get up and move around much, so I did these two new images, and I have never done anything like either of them before. Took me hours.

PUBLISHED!!!

I submitted six photographs for publication to Pathos Lit Mag which is a campus run magazine, and they accepted three of them!!! Two photoshopped works and one B & W!! I am so thankful to those of you (cough...Debb..Prof. Reese..Cate....) who encouraged me to stop being scared of rejection!!!!

Up, Up, and ???

Well, I got myself 100% discount up on pill hill (OHSU) for six months, and that should be enough time to deal with whatever my latest health issue is. I am looking forward to being able to see my Orthopedic surgeon for a follow up as well. I have a bone disease (don't ask me to spell it, LOL) and had to have surgery two years ago and haven't had insurance since then and could not afford to see him. But I went straight to his office and showed my little slip of paper and it was such a magical feeling, I felt as though I was a person again, somebody who could have the health care she needed. I had a wonderful day with Sydney yesterday, I took lots of pictures of her and we shared a roll in the grassy field near my house, the grass goes WAY over her head and we each got lots of hugs and kisses. She makes me laugh, and she does more good for me than she will ever know. :)

This picture is me being brave, ok, well, I am being brave by posting it. This is what I looked like almost exactly 3 years ago today. Let us just say that the number on the scale is a three digit number starting with a 3. :)

My random post for today

Today was filled with frustration at having no medical insurance. So I am feeling somewhat down still. I am praying for sleep tonight. If it weren't for my photoshop and my "baby" (my camera), I would be a sad, sad, girly.

Can't sleep, so posting stuff instead.

Bye Bye Home

Well, the offer was accepted late Friday night, around 11 or so. The deal should close in 2 weeks, they are rushing the process. This is the only real home I have known. This last two weeks have been hard, I lost my favorite car (it was an awesome car!) and my childhood home. I am in a sad, sad, mood. So I did a little photoshop to pick me up. I also went to the art store and bought some goodies. Somehow, I still can't shake my mood.

My name is Brandi, I am addicted to posting pictures on my new blog, it must be the honeymoon phase. Although, honestly, I am feeling bummed. We are moving, we have to, my mom can no longer handle the stairs in our condo and can't do her own laundry ( I do it) becaue our laundry room is behind the garage of our building. Anyway, we made an offer last night and will know by tomorrow afternoon if it gets accepted.

So, my whole purpose for this blog thingy is to JUST DO IT! No, not talkin' Nike, here folks. A class I am taking has sort of inspired me to do this awesome journal, and post some pics of it. Although, I haven't posted journal pages yet, I will! Really! I totally mean it. In the mean time, I will post a few of my favorite pics-some are on my Deviantart page, so they may be repeats!

Debb, I am dreaming of visiting your studio! At some point I will be free and Robert will be at work and I will come over-thankx for the Pan Pastel idea!! I have had a ton of fun with them! When are you going to post your pics from Edgefield? Our next outing-that park in BFE I told you about!!

Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer

Last Saturday I went on a Photography adventure to Edgefield and took several cool pics, one of them being the Beer Sampler. Looks cool, yeah? I hate beer (my friends ordered it) but they sure made a pretty colorful picture. I tasted one and it is still confirmed, I hate beer. :) I am also posting one of my favorite shots I took at the glass making studio there.

First Blogger Post

I really should be in bed, but I thought I would do a quick post of my newest Photomanip, I wish I would have let it alone and left the blue frame out of it and cooled the contrast a tad. Anyway, it was refreshing to get back into it, I am really enjoying my renewed passion for Photoshop and a new love of artistic journaling.

I feel like I have come into a world of color all of a sudden, like that movie, Pleasantville. I could just go on and on about how much I am enjoying the act of using my imagination to create something. I wish I would have been prave enough to try this whole "art" thing when I was in middle school. Instead I had to be perfect, and so I didn't bother creating anything.
